Chores

This is Kade. He is mowing the lawn. This backyard is huge so it's not an easy task! Which is why I have a dandelion garden growing out there. Getting my kids to do chores is such a pain in the butt!

Bye bye dandelion garden.

Birthdays and Baseball

Baseball Season is here! Our favorite thing in the world to do is watch games. Good thing because we have games almost every night.

Dallan plays for the Dixie Little League White Sox. Coach: Adam.

Bridger and Kade play for the Washington Little League Rockies. Coach: Adam and Ruger.

We celebrated Dallan's birthday this past weekend. He's eleven! Had a fun day even though it was raining buckets! Went on the razor, then to House of Jumps, and later to dinner at Golden Corral with Grams and Gramps.

Pine Valley

Went to Pine Valley for the weekend with the Allred's and the Petersons. Did a lot of fishing and eating yummy food. It's always good to get out of this blasted heat.

Backin the Kitchen

It's Summer! Which means sleeping in. But also means feeding lots of kids ALL Day long! Normally I don't like to be in the kitchen in the summer because it's way too hot. But lately I am in the mood to COOK. So yesterday wee did plain old fashioned banana bread. My favorite.

First you lay out all your ingredients. Butter, sugar, eggs, flour, baking soda, baking powder and a secret ingredient that makes it taste so good....

Cream your butter and sugar...

Then add your eggs one at a time and mix thoroughly.

Next add your mashed bananas and then all your dry ingredients.

And lastly that secret ingredient....Sour Cream. Makes it SO YUM.

Give one last mix. Looking so pretty!

Pour into your prettiest bundt cake pan...

Place in a 350 degree oven... And wait for 1 hour and 10 min which seems like forever but makes your house smell sooooo good!!

And Walla! The best banana bread you've ever tasted. Especially with a big old slab of real butter! I got this recipe from the amazing pioneer woman blog. http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2009/08/just-a-recipe-banana-bread/

Happy Cooking!!

Cinco de mayo

This will be the first of my series of "little ways to save money."

So the kids are ALWaYS hungry. So in and effort to save money I opted to make my own frozen burritos.
Huge stack of flour tortillas.
Huge bag of shredded cheese
Can of refried beans
Can of green chilies.

Assemble while watching an episode of Who Do You Think You Are - Rob Lowe

Saturday

I love seeing these on the side of my tub. Reminds me that my kids are still young and have imagination.
