I am reading a book about bringing peace into your children’s lives. Heaven knows we could really use some around here. But as I am reading, the discouragement is building up. Instead of feeling inspired, I am feeling an enormous amount of guilt.
Guilt for the plethora of electronics the kids engage in on a daily basis. Computer, Wii, X Box, T.V. Ipod……There is No Way for Peace to come in because there ain’t no room!!!
The author talks about how she does not allow her children to interact with any electronic substance. Including a simple movie now and then! What????
Now…….she does have some great ideas that I will implement this summer and all, but isn’t that a little extreme????
I then go back to my regular pattern of If -only’s.
If only I had the wisdom and knowledge when Brinley was born, that I have today. O how I would have done things so differently! Which then brings up the question…..Is it wise to have children at such a young age? When you are still selfish and and have zero common sense?
I can only remind myself that we are always in a state of constant learning, right? That all we can do is continue to learn and do our best. What is Dad’s favorite motto????: Everything in moderation, everything in moderation…..
I love this picture of Brinley and Adam. She was probably six. “I really want to go on the ferris wheel, but I don’t have anyone to go on it with me!”
