Sully, SpongeBob, Woody, and I think the Tiger from Lion King?

Meggy, Bridger, Dally and I went to the D.I. yesterday. Yeah the D.I. Such a great organization for the church. Places like this make me proud to be a member. But… I gotta say, ever since I was little I haven’t really liked the name. It’s just sounds so….. um Duh Uh. Let’s just stick to the real name. Deseret Industries. Sounds more Distinguished.

Anyway….our purpose for going was to buy books. They always have an awesome selection of chapter books as well as picture books.  All for under a buck each. After the kids picked out what they wanted, they decided to go venture…..

I really didn’t expect to buy anything else but….

The treasures they found (pictured above) only cost me 25 cents a piece. After a good wash with soap and water, they have literally been playing with them non-stop since.

I think the Wii is very sad.

Meggy found a different kind of toy. A television set.

“No way, Meg.”

So she calls her dad. “As long as it works and comes with a remote, then yea I guess.”

I KNOW he didn’t think it was possible that a T.V. at the D.I.  Deseret Industries would actually have a remote to go with it.

Well guess what? Hers did.

Cha ching. 15 bucks total and now Meggy owns her own freakin T.V. Paid for with money she happened to have in her pocket.

O and a Snoopy Snow Cone Machine for 1.50. Remember those?

K so I have to admit my own splurge. 15 bucks must have been the magic number that day.

My own spin class at home!! I’m so excited! Works great!

You have to be careful when you’re treasure hunting, sometimes you can get a little carried away. (Have you seen the show Hoarders?) My theory is that  it has to pass two tests:

1. The price is right.

2. You will get TONS of use out of it.

BOTH tests must pass. If not, don’t do it.

How’s that for a little frugal wisdom?

I really want to go to THIS. Anyone want to go with me?
