Summer Activity 2

Lolly Pops

Another inexpensive way to entertain your teens and wee ones? We took a trip to the mall. Something I rarely do these days. Unless it’s to Barnes and Noble. My most favorite pastime ever. On one of my birthdays, I went there for about 3 hours and sat, and read, and ate Cheesecake Factory desserts, and sat, and read, and ate some more. Mmmmm…….fun. I loved every minute of it. Anywhoo…My girls are reintroducing me to the “mall.”

We had to take 2 trips in order to accommodate all the friends. I never thought I’d say this, but a 12 passenger van would come in real handy right now. I actually had Meggy look it up to see how much it would be to rent for a day. Oh…only 180 bucks! What?

The girls went shopping, while the boys looked for the “rides.” I’m telling you, give them each 3 dollars in quarters, they think they won the lottery. It actually entertained them for a good amount of time! When they were done we walked over to Sees Candies and bought 65cent suckers. The lady was really kind and gave us free samples also.

This thriftiness is a love-hate relationship with me. I’ve tried to be so on the past, but not like I Have To Be now. It’s been frustrating but good for me. Very humbling I might add.  In fact, Meggy’s only purchase of the day was a shirt for 6 bucks! This is good.

  1. I hate going shopping because I always spend money that we don't have. I too have become quite thrifty and often find myself putting things back that I had in the cart. This has been a major learning experience for me! A good one I might add!
